The Salztal Paradies leisure pool in Bad Sachsa is a popular destination in the southern Harz and has a 5,000 square metre pool and sauna area for water lovers and wellness enthusiasts alike. Water fun, enjoyment and pure relaxation are the order of the day: the leisure pool in Bad Sachsa has something for every age group.
With five saunas — from a 60 °C bio sauna to the 100 °C Finnish dry sauna — the newly designed sauna area invites guests to relax and linger. Deluge showers, Kneipp hoses, a covered outdoor bathing grotto, a fine plunge pool and an ice fountain cool the body down after a long session in the sauna. Salztal Paradies Bad Sachsa was looking for a dependable, versatile sound system able to supply every part of the sauna area with the right background music. Working with MONACOR partner SLT Technology Group GmbH & Co. KG, a MONACOR sound system was implemented for the sauna and wellness area.
Requirement
The client, Bädergesellschaft Bad Sachsa mbH, commissioned MONACOR partner SLT Technology Group GmbH & Co. KG of Krefeld to plan and install a sound system for discreet background music in the roughly 450 m2 sauna area.
Special demands were placed on the speakers used in order to cope with the challenging conditions in swimming pools, saunas and other wellness facilities. The ceiling speakers were to blend in as unobtrusively as possible and ensure high-quality music throughout the sauna and wellness area. Particular attention was paid to simple, user-friendly operation.
Solution
The sauna and wellness area was fitted with 68 MONACOR EDL-158 flush-mount ceiling speakers. This IP65-certified PA ceiling speaker withstands temperatures up to 100 °C and, thanks to its weatherproof cone, is ideally suited to sauna and pool areas. The 2-way system with a dome tweeter delivers excellent sound for discreet background music.
Four WALL-05T/WS wall speakers complement the sound system in the sauna and wellness area. The tiltable and swivelling mounting bracket allows flexible installation on walls or ceilings, horizontally as well.
The speakers are driven by three PA-4120D PA class-D power amplifiers. Low weight and compact dimensions make this 1 U unit the ideal solution in professional permanent installations.
The state-of-the-art class-D power stage ensures excellent efficiency and outstanding sound quality. The PA-4120D delivers four channels of 120 W each into 4 Ω or 100 V.
The volume can be adjusted individually for up to four zones. Every channel has a balanced line-level input and a fault output for remote monitoring of its operating state (both as screw terminals).
“The new speakers fit perfectly into the overall look of the newly designed wellness area. We particularly like that we now have speakers in the saunas too, so we can play relaxing music on different themes.”
Thomas Döbber-Rüther, Geschäftsführer der Bädergesellschaft Bad Sachsa mbH
