The Westover Group‘s Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Christchurch houses the complete range of new vehicles alongside more than 100 approved used cars. The site also offers a free barista bar, a charging point for electric vehicles, seating areas to relax in with free Wi-Fi, an interactive display of the available colours and upholstery, brand history and a merchandise display area. Together with dedicated handover areas, this gives the customer a unique buying experience.
Requirement
Inta Audio contacted MONACOR UK to design a multi-zone system for the Westover Group’s newest dealership. The system had to deliver high-quality background sound while blending unobtrusively into the building. The Christchurch site comprises three main areas: the Jaguar showroom, the Land Rover showroom and a central area. All areas had to be controllable individually from a single amplifier position.
Solution
Based on the customer’s requirements, MONACOR UK’s Commercial Audio department developed a sound concept covering every need perfectly. The extremely popular PA-12040 mixing amplifier with 4 x 120 W was used. It allows up to four zones to be driven from the front panel, and its integrated matrix mixing unit lets the inputs be assigned to any or all outputs.
The extremely versatile WAP-200 source was used for music, allowing the system to receive internet radio over LAN or Wi-Fi (successor: WAP-202RS). That removes the need for an external antenna on the building, which might otherwise affect the look of this prestigious site. The design was completed with the EDL-620 20 W 100 V flush-mount speaker. Its integrated multi-tap function allows the audio level to be set so that differences in ceiling height are evened out.
