Escape Hunt Experience is a globally operating franchise offering its customers a unique ‘escape the room’ experience. The recipe for success spread around the world and made ‘Escape Hunt Experience’ the global market leader in this indoor entertainment industry. Requirement
Midall & Stones of Chesterfield look after the technical equipment of the UK locations and contacted MONACOR UK to find a suitable solution for their customer. Every themed room at ‘Escape Hunt Experience’ was to be fitted with speakers, because the game master watches events from the back office or control room and, in case of doubt, can give the players useful hints over a microphone. At the same time the amount of hardware in the control rooms was to be reduced. The extremely user-friendly system also had to be able to monitor two themed rooms at once from each back office.
Solution
MONACOR’s Commercial Audio department welcomed the challenge and, alongside a multi-channel amplifier and speakers, deployed the ARM-880 matrix mixer: each control room contains, besides the audio matrix router, an ARM-880RC paging microphone, two ARM-880WP2 wall modules and headphones connected to an audio output module. Using the source selection on the wall module, the operator can pick exactly the room to listen in on and use the PA paging microphone for hints at the same time. A second listening position was set up so that trainees can follow events in the themed rooms as well.
To keep the amount of hardware required as low as possible, the cables of the components named above were run back to the communications rack holding the ARM-880 matrix mixer. The ARM-880 matrix mixer and the ARM-880RC paging microphone were complemented by the PA-1850D multi-channel amplifier and several EUL-60/SW universal speakers, which ensure convincing audio reproduction with outstanding speech intelligibility.
